Portfolio: Create a Cure Logo Updates

Wednesday, June 5, 2013

Task: update current logo and style for Create A Cure's new direction.

Previous Logo:

The previous logo incorporated a personal piece from the client (the painting visible through the brush stroke) whose aunt is a survivor or breast cancer.

The client was looking for a more crisp logo that was more symbol than brushstroke and a more bold and interesting shade of pink. I presented her with the following C's (per her request) and a swatch pallet to choose from.

Some C's were hand drawn while others were fonts.

The C's became interlocked and the decision came down between a choice of two fonts and three swatch options.

Pantone P62-8C was chosen...

As was the font Hawaii Killer!

I can't wait to start the complete design overhaul on the rest of the site and facebook page!

Create A Cure Graphics

Saturday, August 11, 2012

I've been working with my good friend Mel on her charity project Create A Cure. I've done a good amount of design work (both print and web), photography, and some logo and branding for her and have had the best time doing it! Below is the website proper:

Here's a close up of a logo:

What better logo for such a project than a brush stroke.

And the business card:

I seriously can't wait until next year.

Create A Cure's event went off without a hitch! It's been so awesome working with everyone on this, I can't wait till next year!

From the Create A Cure Blog:

Check out our spread in Sunday's Washington Post Capital Business publication (this version is a little easier to read).

We are so thrilled by this portrait of our Pop-up Gallery.  We would like to clarify that this article reflects our fundraising goal, not the amount of funds actually attained at the event.  We have submitted a correction to the Washington Post, to whom we are truly grateful for their coverage of the event.  At this time, we are still awaiting the final tally from last week's event.  The final amount of funds generated by our inaugural Pop-up Gallery fundraiser will be available via our website as soon as financial reports have been submitted by our partners.  Thank you for your continued support!

You can type any information you would like here. I can't do that as Bruce Wayne... as a man. I'm flesh and blood. I can be ignored, destroyed. But as a symbol, I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting.
